Jewelry Care

Hello D'Garii Fashion Family! Thank you for choosing our tarnish-free pieces. If you’re like us, you probably have been disappointed by plated jewelry in the past. At D'Garii Jewels, our pieces were created with quality and made to last with the proper care. What makes us different? It’s all about the foundation. Unless labeled otherwise, our products are made of stainless steel material with gold, rose gold, or silver plating. Our stainless steel products are of highest quality and are tarnish-free, which means that they can be worn daily without the color fading. Our pieces are made of 18k gold-plated stainless steel. Stainless steel is known to be resistant against rusting, corroding, and the fading of color. If you don’t start with a high-quality base, the plating will not last. Some more benefits of Stainless Steel: Corrosion Resistance, Fire and Heat Resistance, Hygiene, Long-Term Value. As with any product, in order to maintain the quality of your jewelry for years you must still treat your jewelry with care. Here are some of our instructions on how to properly take care of your pieces:

JEWELRY CARE REMOVAL:  Remove your jewelry before taking off the rest of your outfit. This will help ensure that necklaces, bracelets, and earrings won’t get tangled or damaged.
CHEMICALS:  Avoid contact with beauty products such as hairspray, lotion, perfume or other cosmetics. These products can contain chemicals that can permanently damage your jewelry. Your jewelry should be the last thing put on when dressing up.
BATHING: If possible, avoid wearing your jewelry in the bath, shower, or when washing your hands. Water, soap, and other bathing products can gradually damage your jewelry.
POOLS AND CLEANING: Remove your jewelry before entering a chlorinated swimming pool or before using household cleaners. Chlorine and other common household cleaners, especially bleach, can pit or damage gold alloys.
SWEAT AND HEAT: Avoid wearing your jewelry while working out. In addition, excessive heat in the sauna can easily remove the natural moisture of these gems. Pearls, for instance, can dry out, crack and discolor.
CLEANING YOUR PIECES: While you can purchase a professional ultrasonic cleaner for your jewelry, you should be aware that not all gems and jewelry can be safely cleaned in it. We advise you to use a simple lint free cloth. After wearing, wipe gently with a soft cloth to remove any dirt and skin oils. It is not recommended to use any jewelry polishing cloths on plated jewelry as they will rub off the plating.
STORAGE: Ensure proper storage of your jewelry. Keep away from hard surfaces. Tossing your jewelry into a drawer or on top of a dresser can lead to scratches and damaged pieces. Store in an airtight plastic baggie away from direct sunlight.
